Close to the agricultural world, since its creation in 1973, to green spaces and local communities, the PELLENC Group has always placed environmental and societal requirements at the heart of its strategy. In line with the constant evolution of regulations, we constantly seek to limit the impact of our activities on the environment and support the sustainable development of the local economy.
We integrate our environmental approach into our products, from their conception. For more than ten years, we have invested heavily in the
design, development and manufacture of a complete range of “Zero Emission” products for viticulture, arboriculture and the maintenance of green and urban spaces. Powerful and silent, without C0 2 rejection, thanks to the “Brushless” electric motors and the lithium-ion technology of our batteries, our electric battery tools have the same power and range performance as their thermal equivalents. In addition, we pay great attention to their ergonomics and their balance, thus reducing the arduousness of the work and Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). As for our machines and carriers, they are equipped with intelligent systems that minimize fuel consumption. The presence of efficient exhaust gas treatment systems enables compliance with the latest anti-pollution standards meeting “Tier 4” regulations.
PELLENC, a major player in local economic and social development, is the largest industrial company in the municipality of Pertuis where our main site is located. The Group is the largest employer there: nearly a third of our 1,850 employees work at the head office in Pertuis (South Region, France) while 70% of them live within 20 km. With nearly a hundred trainees and a dozen work-study trainees each year, we participate in the training and professional integration of young people. When the latter are hired by the company, on average 70% are hired at the end of their work-study program.
In terms of the local economy, two-thirds of our purchasing budget for equipment and raw materials is invested in Europe in order to maintain the quality and proximity of our suppliers. Our various production sites are located in regions where agricultural activity (vineyards, orchards) corresponds to our products and services. Thanks to our proximity to arborists and winegrowers, we create jobs there and participate in local development.
To better reduce our impact, we are deploying an efficient and eco-responsible industrial tool. Short-circuit organization and bringing our production tools closer to our markets allow us to limit our waste. The treatment of end-of-life products managed by approved recycling eco-organizations. Our battery factory has therefore been set up in China as close as possible to raw materials, in order to limit our supply flows and therefore our carbon footprint. Our high environmental quality buildings meet eco-construction standards and our investments in intelligent processes guarantee respect for natural resources.
The environmental footprint of the Pertuis site (South Region, France) is close to that of a service sector establishment, a notable performance for an industrial company.
